Students from 17 schools in Dubai have raised four million dirhams for Dubai Cares, the education initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Students from GEMS presented the cheque during a ceremony held at the Dubai American Academy today.
Examples of the students’ fundraising include “Chores for Change”, an initiative by the Jumeirah Primary School involving students doing chores at home for a donation. The Royal Dubai School gave students the opportunity to become teachers for half and hour through an auction.
