The three-day Realistexpo Trade Show 2008 was held recently in Turkey at the Fair Centre in Yeilk’y, where investors, engineers, architects and real estate companies came together to share information on technological developments. Realistexpo brought together real estate buyers and sellers and provided an opportunity for the Turkish real estate industry to establish contacts.Interest in Turkish property has been on the rise due to average property prices being 30 to 50 percent lower in Turkey than other Mediterranean countries such as Spain, France and Italy. Other factors are the cost of living in Turkey which is 40 to 60 percent lower than in Europe and the increase in demand in the Turkish real estate market due to the newly introduced mortgage system. The event featured displays of 400 new projects from nearly 100 leading companies in the industry and generated $13 billion in revenue volume through the participation of more than 18,000 investors, decision-makers and businessmen from all over the world.
