Emirates first to offer direct flights between Dubai and Spain

Dubai’s Emirates airline is to become the first to offer direct flights between Dubai and Spain with the launch of a daily service to Madrid in August 2010.

The new service will make Spain Emirates’ 25th destination in Europe and follows recent announcements to commence services to Amsterdam and Tokyo in 2010; all forming part of the airline’s huge expansion masterplan.

The revelation of Emirates’ expansion plans in spite of the global downturn is testament to popular opinion that Dubai is only poised to build upon its reputation as a thriving tourism and business destination.
