Mark Stott, Chief Executive Officer
As CEO and founder of Select Property Mark has grown a unique telephone and web-based business which has delivered a turnover of over a billion pounds in 6 years. With a clear vision to ensure that Select Property remains at the forefront of the overseas property investment market, Mark has steered the company to introduce numerous industry ‘firsts’. His pioneering approach, which firmly puts the customer and employees at the heart of its strategy, led to Select Property achieving top 10 in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2009.
On leaving school at 18 Mark dived straight into commerce, establishing his first business at 20. Success in the car, leisure and IT industry followed, establishing Select Property (under the brand name Dubai Select) in 2004. Mark was short listed as a finalist in the 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and National Business Awards Credit Suisse Entrepreneur of the Year.
Angus Monro, Chairman
With over 40 years experience in corporate, commercial and retail positions, Angus Monro, the former Chief Executive of Instore and Matalan brings strategic and operational experience to support Select Property’s plans for significant growth.
Angus Monro is widely regarded as one of the UK’s most experienced retailers and has been involved with new alliances Select will form this year. Having joined Select Property in 2010, Angus commented on his appointment, ‘It was the team of extremely talented, dynamic and committed individuals that lead to my appointment as Chairman and I look forward to shaping the company over the coming years and giving buyers full confidence in our propositions’ Mark Stott, CEO stated: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to have such an influential businessman join us as the Chairman of Select Property, his highly successful background and vast experience will be pivotal to the growth of the company.’
Giles Beswick, Director
As a Director of Select Property since 2004, Giles Beswick original focussed on the commercial aspects of the business; establishing its corporate structure, developer contracts, and the back-office delivery of the company’s core business services. Giles also played a pivotal role in the company’s diversification into innovative products and services to enhance the value proposition for Select Property customers, including Select’s popular shared ownership schemes.
Today, Giles spends most of his time communicating the company’s core messages to industry commentators, developer partners, the fantastic international team of staff, and of course Select’s valued customers – one to one as well as via the various media platforms. With a first class degree in communication and now a broad and varied industry experience crammed into the last 7 years, Giles’ insights and perspectives are in high demand!
