Business Development Manager

Name; Lara
Department; Business Development
Title; Business Development Manager
Location; UK and Dubai
Time with company; 1 year 9months
Describe your job…
No two days are the same - every day is a new day which presents a different set of tasks to achieve and finding new information to open new doors for the business. I ensure other departments are kept up to date with latest developments in the news and what our competitors are doing each day.
With developments in several territories – I liaise with our partners on a daily / weekly basis which is essential to maintain an effective line of communication. I meet with developers and external suppliers to understand any developments within the project, new release of information and organise construction updates. I also respond to customer queries and feed through to Member Services to ensure teams are equipped with every piece of accurate information required. The most exciting part is researching new opportunities for the business which involves travel! I often have not unpacked before my next trip.
Highlights…
Working in Dubai, Marrakech and Turkey and continually seeing new places.
Being a part of the some of the successful product launches we have released over the last year
Wining Employee of the month – twice!
Describe Select Property Culture…
Unlike other places of work – Select property offers something different to its employees, which until you are part of, is difficult to summarise. The working ethic is distinctive in that whilst everyone is fully committed to the company’s success and driving forward the business, there are team building activities / social events organised to reward employees – where else would you go skiing for 4 days, or go-karting on the back of a successful quarter or drinks after work after smashing targets in a day – well you wouldn’t!
Not only are there the rewards given through hardwork and objectives delivered but it is the opportunities the company offers, which differentiates the business against most others. This is a place where commitment and hard wok doesn’t go unnoticed – put in the work and opportunities can come your way.
Where do I want to be in a year’s time?
Furthering my career within Select Property, heading up and expanding the department to take on more responsibility for the business.
