Influx of Russian tourists to enhance Dubai’s tourism industry
Dubai can expect a 15-20% rise in Russian tourists during this November’s Russian holiday compared to 2008, according to Aviamost magazine.
Editor-in-Chief Rita Boustany said:
“Dubai’s tourism industry is bracing itself for a large number of Russian tourists as nearly 10,000 to 15,000 who are expected to arrive in the city during the November holiday period.”
She suggested that the competitive room rates offered by Dubai hotels throughout 2009 had encouraged bookings from the Russian market, despite the global economic crisis.
Rita went on to highlight the big-spending habits of the Russian tourists who flock to Dubai for tax free luxury shopping and claimed the rising number of Russian visitors had boosted overall spending of foreign visitors in Dubai.
