Dubai witnesses significant Tourism and Business Growth
Dubai’s Advisory Council of the Government, a high-level economic advisory, announced that Dubai continues to witness increased airline passenger arrivals and sustains a net growth in the establishment of new businesses. This was evident by the data supplied by the Government of Dubai, which highlights that it offered 1,285 new business licenses in each month during November and December of 2008.
Dubai also received an increasing number of airline passengers, evident as the arrivals into the country grew by an average of 5 percent over the previous two months. During this period, over 1.5 million passengers, excluding those in transit, arrived into Dubai.
According to Alabbar, Chairman of The Advisory Council, Dubai represents the investment , knowledge and trade hub for the Gulf. The country has a strong economy, which grew by three-fold over the past five years, and a population of 40 million people.
