A monumental trip to Dubai for Dundee pupil
A schoolboy from Dundee has won a design competition and is heading to Dubai this weekend as part of his prize. His competition winning design is a monument dedicated to Dundee and he is taking a scale model of his design which will be created and placed in Za'abeel Park in Dubai, which is a sister city to Dundee. Given the task of turning Eddie's design into a reality was sculptor Doug Cocker. The finished monument will be made out of granite and will be about 4m high and 4m across.
It will feature alongside models representing other places such as Geneva, Istanbul, Shanghai and Osaka.
