Bowring’s success at PGA Championship in Ras Al Khaimah
The United Arab Emirates PGA Championship at Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah was revamped this year and was played over 36 holes for the first time. The new two-day format of the event was an undoubted success among the UAE Professional Golfers’ Association, and was the concluding stroke play event of an expanded calendar.
James Bowring set a course record on the first day, then saw a two-shot lead disappear into a three-shot deficit, before holding himself together to win by four shots during a roller-coaster Championship.
