Ras Al Khaimah Airways to manage Congo airline

The airline in Congo in which Ras Al Khaimah government's investment arm, Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (Rakia) has bought a 60 per cent stake will be managed by Ras Al Khaimah Airways. The airline is expected to be rebranded as Air Congo.

Currently the airline does not have any fleet, but they plan to buy aircraft to start services. It is a national carrier and enjoys some traffic rights in the central African region, which the airline will serve. It will have a close relationship with RAK Airways in both services and fleet management.

RAK Airways' chief operating officer said "Our plan is to develop the airline as a strong domestic and regional airline and we are working to mobilise resources to start the airline.”
