Wilmslow Employee Gets Top Honours from Manchester Business School
The employee of a Wilmslow business has become the first ever person to receive a first class Masters degree in Information Systems, Organisations and Management from Manchester Business School. Ioannis Verdelis, who works for property developer Dubai Select, was awarded the accolade in a ceremony on 14th December. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the fact that he is only 22.
Ioannis began the one year course, which examines business systems and how they increase efficiency within organisations, in September 2004. He joined Dubai Select in July 2005 as Business Development Executive, using his knowledge to develop the company’s internal processes and investigate new commercial ventures.
Commenting of Ioannis’ success, Mark Stott, MD of Dubai Select said: “Manchester Business School is consistently ranked as one of Europe’s top MBA providers and so to achieve a first class degree is nothing less than outstanding.
“The level of commitment he has shown to his studies is replicated in the work he does at Dubai Select and as a result he has become an invaluable member of the team. We are all very proud of his achievement.”
Ioannis moved to the UK from Athens 5 years ago to study for a Computer Science (BSc) degree at the University of Warwick. He now lives in central Manchester.
