Infrastructure works on Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island are 80% complete, master developer Rakeen have announced today.

Furthermore, the remainder of the works are on target to complete on schedule in 2012 with infrastructure including irrigation system, potable water system storm water system, rising main system and vacuum system in place ready for when the first projects on Al Marjan Island are completed.

Confirming the sound progress made, Rakeen’s Technical Director, Yahia Kambris, said:

“Construction work has progressed according to schedule and we are on track to complete all infrastructure work in 18 months. The first development projects to be completed on the island will then be able to hook up to the infrastructure services and enjoy various amenities on the island. As we enter the final stretch of construction work, there has been a growing excitement among future residents of Al Marjan Island as various sections of the prestigious development now begin to take shape.”

Al Marjan Island, the first of its kind in Ras Al Khaimah will home to a number of luxury lifestyle developments including Rakeen’s own Bab Al Bahr project and Pacific, jointly developed by Select Group and Select Property which has witnessed impressive construction progress in 2010.
