Outdoor warm weather ski slope planned in Ras Al Khaimah
An outdoor ski slope where people could ski in a swimsuit is the centrepiece of an ambitious plan in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah .
An Australian company will help to develop the resort, which will feature snow that can stand 35 degrees centigrade so you can ski in your swimsuit. The resort will be part of the development in the Hajjar Mountains which will also include hotels, a golf course and bike trails.
The new Al Jais Mountain Road, already under construction has been completed to an altitude of 1,000 metres and estimates are that it will reach the 1,900-metre summit in two years. Work on the mountain-top development will begin once the road work is done.
