RAK Half Marathon set to make 2009 a memorable year
Ras Al Khaimah’s famous Half Marathon aims to make 2009 a memorable year for the emirates as competitive athletes from all over the world get ready. The eyes of many focus on the early season road races after the success of the event in 2008, when many world records were broken in various events.
However, 2009 promises to be a decisive year for three competing athletes in particular, with the outcome of the event capable of significantly changing their status. These include Deriba Merga from Ethiopia, Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich and Patrick Makau from Kenya.
Amongst these Patrick Makau has already earned quite a reputation for being one of only thirty-three men in history to have broken the one-hour mark for the RAK Half Marathon.
