Ras Al Khaimah Media City is planning an expansion by investing Dh80 million into building 10 studios, 10 dubbing theatres and 20 shooting stages for films and TV productions. Junaid Shaikh, Chief Executive of Ras Al Khaimah Media City said, "The new facilities under construction are expected to be completed in four months and are aimed to offer a more convenient place for media-related companies that are establishing business in the UAE with Ras Al Khaimah as their base."Available space, competitive rental costs, service convenience and an upcoming future with economic growth in Ras Al Khaimah are the main reasons why media companies are starting to have a presence in Ras Al Khaimah, added Shaikh. In recent months, more than 20 international companies from the publishing, advertising and media sector have established activities in the Ras Al Khaimah media free zone. The results of the CNBC Arabian Property Awards 2008 have just been revealed and Select Property, in conjunction with its development partner Select Group, is delighted to announce that it has won an award in the category of Best New Development 2008 for the Pacific development on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The award will be presented at a glittering gala dinner to be held at The Madinat in Dubai on 19th October.
