Dubai Promotion in Finland and Turkey
Dubai was on display at Finland’s International Travel and Tourism Fair (MATKA-2007). The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) stand was the star of the show, drawing large crowds at of professionals and prospective tourists.
MATKA-2007, which was held in Helsinki from January 18 to 21, is the region’s biggest show, attracting nearly 86,000 visitors. This was Dubai’s 17th year participating in the show.
The five co-participants were Grosvenor House, Alpha Tours, Arabian Explorers, Emirates Airline and Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Towers Dubai.
With weekly flights from Finland to Dubai via Finnair Leisure and a charter flight from Sweden/Finland to Dubai, Dubai has seen yearly increases in the number of visitors from the Nordic region.
At the end of January, the DTCM greeted guests at the Travel Turkey-2007 exhibition in Istanbul from January 25 to 28. This was Dubai’s first time showing at the Turkish expo.
The 14 co-participants included Arabian Park Hotel, Alpha Tours, Avionics Travels & Holidays, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Chelsea Hotel & Hotel Apartments, Dhow Palace Hotel, Al Kazemi Tours, Coral Deira Dubai, Arabian Explorers, Bin Majid Tours, Sight See Tourism, Al Jawhara Gardens Hotel and Fly Express.
