The European Golf Tour has confirmed the Race to Dubai will return in 2010, dispelling rumours surrounding the future of the competition which comes to a season closing at The Dubai World Championship.
The tour’s CEO George O’Grady revealed the Race to Dubai would continue in his announcement of the 2010 fixture list. Suggesting the competition would become a permanent fixture in the golfing calendar, he said:
“The Race to Dubai has brought a new dimension to our season and we are confident it will grow in stature with the best golfers in the world competing in a dynamic season-long competition”.
Competition amongst the world’s top players in this year’s race is intensifying leading up to the Dubai World Championships in November. The event, at Jumeirah Golf Estates is expected to attract thousands of golf fans from around the globe. Confirmation of its return next year is great news for Dubai tourism and reinforces Dubai’s position on the world’s sporting stage.
