The first phase of WOW RAK, Ras Al Khaimah’s multi-use theme park and waterpark, is set to open in April this year according to its developer.
POLO RAK Amusements has confirmed that WOW RAK’s snow-themed Ice Land Waterpark is on track to open in mid-April. The largest of its kind in the Middle East at over 20 acres, the waterpark will feature over 35 slides and the world’s largest man-made waterfall.
When complete, the 120 acre project will also boast an 85 unit shopping mall and 180 room hotel, scheduled for completion in 2011 and a theme park, scheduled for completion in 2012.
The waterpark is designed to cater for around 15,000 guests a day and expectations are that WOW RAK will attract more than a million worldwide visitors every year when fully opened.
Opening of the first phase of WOW RAK out of months of global economic uncertainty is testament to Ras Al Khaimah’s ambition to become a leading tourist destination offering world class attractions on a massive scale.
