There are exciting plans for the Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, but Dubai currently fares better with investors and tourists.
There are a number of things that make the Al Reem Island attractive. The waterfront development is close to downtown Abu Dhabi where a range of amenities can be found as well as being in easy reach of the airport and Dubai – Abu Dhabi highway.
In terms of investment opportunities the development of Al Reem is set to include a number of districts including residential and business areas with the hope of turning the island into a city within a city. Schools, art galleries, shopping centres and silky beaches are set to be a ‘must’ on the island, making it an attractive tourist destination and offering potentially impressive investment opportunities.
Residentially, the Al Reem Island will offer an array of properties many inspired by a variety of architecture from around the world, especially the western world as well as both oriental and Moroccan themes.
Recreationally, tourists will be able to haunt the shopping facilities that will be on offer as well as galleries, golf and theatres which are set to make Al Reem the place to be in Abu Dhabi. Of course being on the coast of the Arabian Sea is a tourist attraction in itself being a paradise location for tourists, locals and investors alike.
When it is fully developed, the Al Reem Island is set to be a sure-fire property and tourist hotspot, although it has a long way to go before it will be as popular as neighbouring Dubai where the property market and tourism are currently booming.
Recent figures portray that property in Dubai is outperforming that in Abu Dhabi where the former is currently seeing an increase in real estate prices as opposed to the latter where there has been a decrease. Dubai is recovering from the economic downturn and it has been predicted that tourist numbers are expected to rise.
