There are already a number of shopping opportunities available in Dubai at the moment with Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina Mall all proving to be popular amongst residents of the emirate.
However, the shopping opportunities available in the emirate are set to improve with the announcement of a new outlet mall that will sell luxury brands at discounted prices.
Dubai-based developers, Meraas will start work on the 160-store outlet park next year where stores will span an area of more than 20,000 square metres.
The company commented: “Unlike traditional ‘outlet’ malls, the Outlet Village will retail high-end luxury brands at discounted prices.”
The developers revealed that phase one of the development will see the construction of 100 high end stores whilst phase two will see 60 outlet stores being created.
The Dubai Outlet Mall was developed by Al Ahli Holding Group and is set to be the only outlet-style mall in the Middle East and will house 1200 of international premium brands where customers will benefit from discounts of around 30-90 percent.
With such retail outlets being popular in the UK it is likely that such outlets will be popular with tourists as well as residents who are keen to get a bargain.
Meraas added: “With Dubai’s tourism industry marking exponential growth, the Outlet Village is envisioned to emerge as an iconic and a must-visit destination for visitors and residents alike.”
The company added that the project was inspired by the outlet malls that are common throughout the UK and Europe such as Cheshire Oakes and Bicester Village.
