A number of European carriers have committed to fly their services to Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) International Airport.
Airlines from Europe and Russia will begin flying to the United Arab Emirates region later on this year in an attempt to boost tourism in the area, the travel hub confirmed in a statement.
It said: “With a few airlines already committed to bringing in their tourists this year, the airport is expecting to significantly increase its passenger and airline numbers in 2013.”
The announcement that new airline carriers will travel to RAK comes following the Routes Europe event RAK International Airport exhibited at last month in Budapest, Hungary.
This showcase, which took place between May 13th and 15th, provided the travel facility with a “platform for us to talk to several airlines around the world who seek new destinations”.
It helped the airport network with airlines and encourage new carriers to include RAK in their routes.
The travel hub has become incredibly popular among holidaymakers recently, with the RAK Tourism Development Authority revealing last month that 304,843 people came to the region during Q1 of 2013, according to Travel Daily Media.
