Select Property Group is sponsoring Manchester’s Dig the City event.
The Group is the developer of prominent landmarks in Manchester, including Vita Student at First Street and was recently named as Bruntwood’s partner in the redevelopment of the 1.2 million sq ft BBC site on Oxford Road.
The Dig the City festival will take place outside the Group’s CitySuites site in Greengate Square, as well as various locations throughout Manchester including Market Street, New Cathedral Street, St Ann’s Square and King Street
CEO of Select Property Group Mark Stott said: “It’s an exciting time to be in Manchester. Its’s a city that’s attracting lots of attention and investment from all over the world and we’re delighted to be sponsoring Dig the City and supporting Salford City Council and Cityco on the project that is set to create a real buzz across the city.”
It’s an event devised and delivered by CityCo on behalf of the city’s Heart of Manchester Business Improvement District, a consortium of over 380 city centre retailers.
The seven-day summer fiesta begins today and will transform the city centre into a network of living, green streets until Thursday August 6th.
It means visitors to the city centre will enjoy a week’s worth of pop-up picnics, music, and markets.
Manchester is quickly developing a reputation as the fastest growing city in the UK. Global bank HSBC has highlighted its investment potential, while the new British government will make it the second city in the UK after London to received devolved powers with an elected mayor’s office.
